Plans are in top gear, for the grand finale of the maiden edition of the Quiz competition organized by Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Nigeria, CCRN, Satellite Deanery, Lagos. The competition, which was conceived late last year, 2020, commenced at the first quarter of this year, 2021, as the grand finale will hold on August 8, 2021. Speaking on the theme: “Knowing the Holy Scriptures from childhood (11Tim 3:14-17)”, and significance of the quiz Mr. Cyril Oghaego, Chairman, CCRN, Satellite Deanery, revealed that the initiative was conceived, after they discovered the children’s weakness in studying the bible, and their lack of commitment in the Christian faith. On the goals of the initiative, Oghaego disclosed that they intend to get the children deeply committed to studying the bible, and Catholic faith, in order to become better Christians, and to be morally sound, as to influence their environment, in a godly manner. He further disclosed that through the competition, they intend to instill the culture of doing the will of God, which is supreme in life, and also to produce people, who will be ever ready to go to heaven. Speaking on the scope of the competition, which is still within Satellite Deanery currently, Oghaego disclosed the intention of extending the quiz to Archdiocesan and national levels. He said the participants are children between nine and 15years of age, cutting across all the prayer groups in Satellite Deanery. “The winner of the quiz competition will receive a gift prize of 250,000 Naira, while those in second and third positions will get 150,000 Naira and 100,000 Naira, respectively. Consolation prizes will also come in different categories”, he disclosed.
