The Catechesis Corner column, anchored by Rev. Sr. Mary Judith Madueke, EHJ, Director of the Religious Education Department of the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos, has returned to the pages of The Catholic Herald. Sr. Madueke explained that the revival of the column comes at a time when authentic catechesis is urgently needed to address confusion, indifference, and misinformation about the Catholic faith. “Catechesis is more than religious instruction, it is a lifelong journey of growing in knowledge, love, and service of Jesus Christ,” she emphasised.
The column will offer clear teachings rooted in Scripture and Tradition, practical tips for living out the faith, and reflections to deepen readers’ understanding and discipleship. “Through this ministry, the Church helps the faithful move from hearing the Word to understanding it deeply, accepting it fully, and living it faithfully,” Sr. Judith noted.
