- Says KSM’s values align with Church’s broader goals
- Highlights notable strides
The Knights of St. Mulumba (KSM) Nigeria, Lagos Metropolitan Council has disclosed its commitment to build multi-skilled Sub-Councils and make them stronger for a brighter future. According to Sir Don Ezeh KSM, Metropolitan Grand Knight, Lagos Metropolitan Council, by fostering a culture of holistic development initiatives, the KSM, Lagos Metropolitan Council is strengthening its Sub-Councils with the tools they need to thrive to have lasting impact on the Church and community. In a recent exclusive interview with The Catholic Herald, the Metropolitan Grand Knight emphasised that this initiative is central to the Metropolitan Council’s vision.

He said, “In addition to enhancing spiritual growth and formation of our members, we encourage our Sub-Councils to prioritise skills development and empowerment programmes. These initiatives include ICT and computer training, photography and videography skills, catering and culinary arts as well as fashion design. “These holistic development initiatives aim to make our Sub-Councils multi-skilled, stronger as well as future-ready. “This commitment will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the Church and community.” Sir Don Ezeh further noted that the Knights of St. Mulumba’s values and mission are deeply rooted in the broader goals of the Catholic Church in Nigeria. This alignment, he said, was intentional from the organisation’s inception. “Thanks to the vision of its founder, Fr. Anselm Ojefua, a dedicated priest and monk.
The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) also played a significant role in shaping the KSM’s core values. Over the years, the Order has consistently upheld these ideals, ensuring a strong connection to its founding principles,” he said. With a commitment to serving the Church and community, KSM, Lagos Metropolitan Council has made notable strides. One of its flagship projects launched during the Sir Ezeh led administration is ‘Feed-the-Hungry’ initiative. Within the era of the Metro’s current leadership, the Council has experienced significant growth in membership, expanding from 1,027 members in August 2021 to 1,334 in March 2025.
With a projected additional 120 members by the year-end, KSM is poised for continued growth. The creation of three new Sub-Councils – Ajao, Sagamu, and Arepo – has further strengthened KSM’s presence in the South-West region. The Metropolitan Grand Knight’s track record speaks volumes about his leadership and dedication. With a trail of numerous notable achievements under his belt, he has set a high standard for others to follow.
