The prelate is a communications scholar who served as Communications Secretary to the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria between mittee for Social Communications, that is the communications committee of Bishops for the Symposium of Episcopal Conferences for Africa and Madagascar (SECAM). 1996 and 2004.
He was appointed the Coadjutor Bishop of Oyo in August 2007 by Pope Benedict XVI and was ordained by Most Rev. Julius Babatunde Adelakun on October 20, 2007. He also served until recently for eight years as Bishop Chairman for the Social Communications Department of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN).
Bishop Badejo is currently the Vice Chairman for Social Communications department for the Regional Episcopal Conferences of West Africa (RECOWA) and is currently the Bishop President for CEPACS, which is the French acronym for the Pan African Episcopal ComBorn on July 13, 1961 and ordained a priest on January 4, 1986 at the age of 24, Bishop Emmanuel Adetoyese Badejo, became the substantive Bishop of Oyo after Most Rev. Julius Babatunde Adelakun in the year 2009.
He studied Social Communications at the Salesian University in Rome, where he got the university award for the best student in his class. He is a communicator par excellence and is well known for his musical prowess.
