Most Rev. Francis Obafemi Adesina, Catholic Bishop of Ijebu-Ode Diocese celebrated his third. Episcopal ordination anniversary on Monday, April 25, 2022. Bishop Adesina is the third Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Ijebu-Ode. His appointment followed the retirement of Most Rev. Albert Ayinde Fashina at the age of 75.
Before his appointment as Bishop, Bishop Adesina was a priest of Osogbo Diocese and Rector of the Major Seminary of Saints Peter and Paul, Ibadan, Oyo State. Bishop Adesina was ordained and installed Bishop on April 25, 2019 at the Main Bowl of St. Anthony’s Nursery and Primary School, Igbeba Road, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.
Catholic Diocese of Ijebu-Ode. Ijebu-Ode Diocese was created on May 29, 1969, with Bishop Anthony Sanusi as its first Bishop. The Diocese was excised from Lagos Archdiocese and is now one of the two suffragan Dioceses of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Lagos. The Diocese has parishes and quasi parishes, and covers nine Local Government Areas, namely: Ijebu-Ode, Ijebu-East, Ijebu-North, Ogun Waterside, Odogbolu, Sagamu, Remo- North, Ikenne and Ijebu North-East.
