The forty-mile drive from Lagos to Badagry is roughly two and half hours. But owing to the incredible gullies in the road, the journey now seems like an eternity of driving through nightmares. All those who travel this wreck can testify to the agonies experienced daily. To worsen the situation, there are uniformed men stationed at different points of the road doing stop and search. While bad road is now a common currency in Lagos state, the Lagos-Badagry “gully way” is a concrete indicator of the callousness of our political leaders. Your Excellencies, here is a sobering proposition: please, be patriotic by building our roads, not with words but actions.
