- Papal Nuncio acknowledges the institution’s significant contributions to education
In a landmark visit, Archbishop Michael Francis Crotty, the Apostolic Nuncio to Nigeria, visited Augustine University in Ilara-Epe, Lagos State, on Friday, January 3, 2025. Archbishop Crotty was joined by Archbishop Alfred Adewale Martins of the Metropolitan See of Lagos and other Catholic priests from the Lagos Archdiocese. The visit commenced with a campus tour, showcasing the university’s stunning architecture and modern facilities. The delegation was received by key university officials, including Rev. Fr. (Prof.) Anthony Akinwale, Deputy Vice-Chancellor; Rev. Fr. (Dr.) Emmanuel Ogundele, Director of Operations; Dr. Rukevwe Olughor, Director of Academic Planning; and Mrs. Adesomo Babajide, Faculty Officer of the Faculty of Science.


Other notable members of the delegation included Rev. Fr. Paul Ariole, Secretary to the Archbishop, and Parish Priest of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. During the visit, Archbishop Crotty praised Augustine University’s remarkable growth and commitment to excellence, acknowledging the institution’s significant contributions to education .
