The Association of Papal Knights and Medalists in Nigeria (APKMN) is set to hold its 16th Annual National Conference from November 14 to 17, 2024 at EHJ Domus Fidei, Ikeja, Lagos. According to a letter written to the Directorate of Social Communications, Archdiocese of Lagos, Archbishop Fortunatus Nwachukwu, Secretary of the Dicastery for Evangelisation, Vatican is expected to declare the Conference open on Friday, November 15, 2024.
The keynote address entitled, “Living an Authentic Catholic Life: Challenges and Opportunities in Nigeria,” will be delivered by His Eminence, John Cardinal Onaiyekan, Emeritus Archbishop of Abuja. Chairman of the Conference is Rt. Hon. Chev. Uduimo Justus Itsueli KSG, OON while the Guest Speaker is Dr. Fabio Maximo Cassani Pironti, Official of Vatican’s Secretariat of State. Dr. Pironti will speak on, “The Role of Papal Honourees in the Evangelisation of the Catholic Church of Nigeria.”
The Conference will commence with an Opening Mass to be concelebrated by the Host Archbishop, Most Rev. (Dr.) Alfred Adewale Martins, Archbishop of the Metropolitan See of Lagos and a host of other priests. Papal Knights and Medalists in Nigeria (APKMN) across the nine ecclesiastical provinces (Abuja, Benin, Calabar, Ibadan, Jos, Kaduna, Lagos, Onitsha and Owerri) will be in attendance. Other scheduled activities include, daily Masses at EHJ Chapel, gala night and courtesy visits to Archbishop Alfred Adewale Martins and Anthony Cardinal Okogie, Emeritus Archbishop of Lagos.
