Archdiocese of Lagos holds Immaculate Conception Novena

The Immaculate Conception novena for the Archdiocese of Lagos which commenced on Tuesday, November 29 will come to a close on Thursday, December 8, 2022, being the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. The novena with the theme, “Mary Mediatrix of all graces (John 2:3)” is being held at the Marian Shrine, Maryland, Lagos. Programmes for the introductory day, Tuesday November 29, included confession, Rosary and Holy Mass celebration. Day two, Wednesday, November 30, with the theme, “Mary, the chosen vessel of God (Lk 1:46-27)”, featured confession, Rosary, Stations of the Cross, and Holy Mass, with blessing of expectant mothers and religious articles. Day three, Thursday, December 1, with the theme, “All generations will call me blessed (Lk. 1:48)”, had confession, Rosary recitation and Holy Mass with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Procession and Adoration. Day four, Friday, December 2, with the theme, “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord (Lk. 1:46)” featured confession, Rosary recitation, and Holy Mass.

Day five, Saturday December 3, with the theme, “Of all women you are the Most Blessed (Lk. 1:42)” featured confession, Rosary recitation, and Holy Mass. Day six, Sunday December 4, with the theme, “He has used the power of His arm; He has routed the arrogant of heart (Lk. 1:51-53)”, commences with Rosary at 5.00pm and Holy Mass at 6.00pm with Anointing of the Sick. Day seven, Monday, December 5, with the theme, “Blessed is she who believed that the promise made her by the Lord, would be fulfilled (Lk. 1:45)”, starts with confession at 4.30pm, Rosary 5.00pm and Holy Mass 6.00pm. Day eight, Tuesday December 6, with the theme, “Do whatever He tells you (Jn. 2:5-6)” begins with confession at 4.30pm, Rosary 5.00pm and Holy Mass 6.00pm. Day nine, Wednesday, December 7, with the theme, “Mary, the Mother of Mercy (Jn. 2:1-5)” commences with confession by 4.30pm, Rosary 5.00pm, Stations of the Cross, 6.00pm and Holy Mass 6.30pm, with blessing of expectant mothers and religious articles. Final day, Thursday, December 8, “Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception”, begins with Rosary at 5.00pm, Candlelight Procession 5.45pm and Holy Mass 6.00pm.
