On Saturday, January 4, 2025, St. Augustine College of Education, Akoka, Lagos, played host to a distinguished guest, the Apostolic Nuncio to Nigeria, Archbishop Michael Francis Crotty. The visit, which was a significant event in the college’s history, was a momentous occasion for the staff and students. Archbishop Crotty was accompanied by the Archbishop of the Metropolitan See of Lagos, Most Reverend Alfred Adewale Martins. Upon their arrival, they were warmly welcomed by the college community, comprising staff and students. As part of the visit, the Apostolic Nuncio embarked on a tour of the college facilities, led by the Provost, Very Rev. Fr. (Dr.) Vincent Olofinkua.


The Registrar, Mrs. Mary O. Aipoh, the Bursar, Mr. Emmanuel Bayagbon, and some staff and students also joined the tour. The visit of the Apostolic Nuncio to St. Augustine College of Education marked a significant milestone in the institution’s history. The occasion provided an opportunity for the college community to engage with the Nuncio and the Archbishop, and to showcase the institution’s facilities and achievements.
