As parts of its efforts to equip African youths for academic success, the Archbishop John Kwao Amuzu Aggey (JKA Aggey) Foundation, has disclosed its intention to distribute educational materials, including exercise books to indigent students across Nigeria through its Back-to-School initiative. Disclosing this recently, after a tour of schools in Benin Republic, where the group gave out educational materials to school children, Sir Albert Fadonougbo, the foundation’s President and CEO stated that the body will ensure it continues to support the less privilege in the society in its various areas of intervention, including social welfare and health.

To achieve a much-desired result on the project, Fadonougbo disclosed that the foundation is organising a fundraiser to enable it prepare African youths for success as he called on kind hearted individuals and organisations to partner with the Aggey Foundation. According to him, “As the summer days begin to wane, the anticipation of a new school year looms on the horizon. For many children in Africa, the back-to-school season is a time of excitement and preparation. However, for those from low-income or disadvantaged backgrounds, it can be a time of added stress and uncertainty. “Every child deserves a fair chance at education and academic success and a shared vision for a brighter future.
Therefore, it is with great enthusiasm that I invite you to partner with the Aggey Foundation in continuing Archbishop John Kwao Amuzu Aggey’s remarkable legacy, a trailblazer in spiritual leadership, education, and community development.” Fadonougbo said to achieve these goals, the foundation needs help to raise the sum of USD 25,000 to provide yearly scholarships for 50 talented, but underprivileged secondary school students in Nigeria, Republic of Benin, and Togo, as well as to empower 2,500 students with Back-to-School packs. He said: “This campaign aims to provide brand new backpacks filled with essential school supplies to deserving children in the community. “
Your generous contribution— whether as an individual, organisation, or corporate entity will make a direct and lasting impact, and ensure that every child has the tools they need to flourish in the classroom and beyond. Let us join hands and make a meaningful difference together.” Mr. Olumide Osomo, the Programme Officer, speaking on the group’s proposal for the “Adopt a School Notebook Programme” noted the importance of education to individuals, adding that many students in underprivileged communities lack the basic tools necessary for their education, including notebooks.
According to Osomo, The “Adopt a School Notebook Programme,” aims to bridge this gap, by providing students with essential notebooks to facilitate their learning, as he called on individuals and organisations to support this initiative to ensure that every child has the resources they need to succeed academically. He said through the project, the foundation aims at distributing notebooks to public primary and secondary school students, as it presents a unique opportunity to make significant impact in the lives of students in underserved communities.
