The Executive Council mem-
bers of Agege Deanery of the
Catholic Men Organisation
(CMO,) Catholic Archdiocese of La-
gos on Sunday, March 15, 2020 gath-
ered at the Canaan hall of St. Cyp-
rian’s Catholic Church, Oko-Oba,
Agege, Lagos to meet minds all in
attempt to improve on the organisa-
tion’s performance in the execution
of programmes and projects for ef-
fective evangelization and welfare
of the Parishioners within the area of
coverage and by extension the central
body, the Lagos Archdiocese of the
Catholic Men Organisation.
Addressing members of the Execu-
tive Council drawn from the 15 Par-
ishes and Police Chaplaincy Agege,
Coordinator of the Catholic Men
Organisation, Agege Deanery, Engr.
Chuks Nzei gave the indication that
the Deanery would not play a sec-
ond fiddle or be found wanting when
matters concerning the evangeliza-
tion mission of the Mother Church
are raised. He therefore called on the
Executive Council including mem-
bers of the host Parish who came in
their numbers to attend the meeting
to sit up and hit the ground running
to ensure Agege Deanery maintains
the number one position in the Arch-
diocese.
In his opening remarks the Chair-
man of CMO, St. Cyprian’s Catholic
Church, Oko-Oba, Agege, Sir Chidi
Ekenedo welcomed all members to
the meeting adding that they would
never regret coming to the host Par-
ish because of the big treat that awaits
them and wish the Executive Council
members fruitful deliberations. From
then on business took over and first
to address the gathering was Secre-
tary General of Lagos Archdiocese
of CMO, Mr. Segun Lawrence who
emerged from the Deanery. He gave
a breakdown of issues discussed
at the Archdiocesan CMO, among
them the Annual General Meeting
of the Catholic Men Organisation
coming up in July, 2020 and that the
modalities are still being worked out
for a hitch free yearly event.
Speaking further, the Deputy Co-
ordinator of Agege Deanery CMO,
Mr. Godfrey Ohwofasah praised the
Deanery Coordinator, Engr. Chuks
Nzei for his contributions towards
the success story of the deanery and
numerated the steps the current ex-
ecutive of the central body of CMO
is taking to ensure transparency in
the conducts of its affairs. He also
announced that the St. Joseph Tech-
nical Institute, a project being exe-
cuted by the Catholic Men Organi-
sation in the Lagos Archdiocese and
recently flagged off by His Grace,
Most Rev. (Dr.) Alfred Adewale
Martins would open its doors for the
first batch of trainees in September,
2020.
The next Executive Council meet-
ing would be hosted by St. Sabina, Idi
Mangoro, Agege Local Council Area
of Lagos, the Coordinator announced
shortly after then food and drinks
were served just as the meeting came
to a close on a happy note.
