President of the Catholic Women Organisation (CWO), St. Augustine Catholic Church, Ikorordu, Lagos, Mrs. Ada Nnamani has highlighted the organisation’s mission to empower women spiritually, socially, and charitably. Nnamani made the disclosure while delivering the Keynote Address during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the CWO, a momentous occasion that brought together women from diverse backgrounds, united by faith and commitment to service, recently at the Claret Hall of the parish.
Speaking on the importance of fostering sisterhood and nurturing the virtues of humility, charity, and service, the President noted that the organisation is not just about gathering but transforming lives through faith in action. Nnamani, gave account of her stewardship, including the purchase of coaster bus, renovation of Holy Mary Grotto, donation of seven buckets of paints, sets of Gas, public address system, tables, Chalice and Pop-corn machine to the outstations, Mary Mother of God, Eyita, donation of Pop- corn machine to St. John the Evangelist, Grant of 60,000 to 10 members and 1 million naira to settle medical bills for two members—ranging from charity programmes to their members.

Notable projects include, the annual Mothers’ Day, health awareness campaigns, and support for widows and orphans. These initiatives have touched countless lives, embodying the true spirit of Christian service. The atmosphere was filled with warmth as members arrived, adorn in their Aso-Ebi traditional attire, ready to reflect on the past year’s achievements and chart new paths forward. The AGM commenced with a Holy Mass led by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Matthias Iheonu, setting a tone of reverence and unity. highlights of the event included recognition of outstanding members whose dedication and leadership significantly contributed to the organisation’s growth. Gifts and packages were presented to all members amidst cheers and applause.
The event also included a motivational talk by Mrs. Mary Osato, Ikorodu Deanery Co-ordinator, who urged women to embrace their roles as pillars of faith and agents of positive change within their communities and family. As the AGM drew to a close, members left feeling renewed and inspired, reaffirmed in their mission to serve with love and faith. Mrs. Clementina Nwankwo appreciated the members for their efforts and selfless services. The Parish Secretary, Mrs. Chinyere Inyama gave the vote of thanks. The Catholic Women Organisation’s AGM was more than just a meeting; it was a powerful reminder of the strength found in faith and sisterhood, inspiring women to continue making a difference in their homes, churches, and society at large.
