This month, MCA children in the Archdiocese were asked to respond to the following question: “Prayer, sacrifice, and evangelisation have been the core missionary objectives of MCA. As an MCA child, how will you share these virtues with others during this holiday period?” Some Children across the Archdiocese responded thus:

‘I will spend this holiday praying each day for my family, friends, the sick, and children everywhere’

As an MCA child, I will spend this holiday praying each day for my family, friends, the sick, and children everywhere. I will also pray my Rosary and invite my friends to join me so we can bring peace and joy to our homes and community. I will practice sacrifice by sharing my snacks, toys, and time with others. I will also help my parents and neighbours cheerfully, offering these little acts to God as love. Through evangelisation, I will speak kindly, forgive quickly, and share Bible stories and songs with friends. In this way, my holiday will be fun and filled with the true spirit of an MCA child. “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your father in heaven” Matthew 5:16.

‘On our mission today, I evangelised 28 parishioners’

On our mission today, I evangelised 28 parishioners telling them to allow their children to join the Missionary Childhood Association (MCA) so as to participate in our activities in the Church. Prayer is communicating to God with our hearts and mind, while sacrifice is putting others first before our own needs. It is very important for all the children to come together so that we can in one accord offer prayer and sacrifice, and show love to one another as the greatest commandment teaches us. With children all over the world we are always friends!

‘Ask Mother Mary through the Rosary to guide me to love God more deeply’

As an MCA child, I know that Prayer opens the door to God’s blessings. The Bible tells us, “Pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17). This holiday, I will make time every day to talk to Jesus for my family, friends, and children who have not yet heard about Him. I will also pray for missionaries working in faraway places and ask Mother Mary through the Rosary to guide me to love God more deeply. I will also practice sacrifice, because Jesus said, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me” (Luke 9:23). To follow this, I will share my toys, snacks, and time with children who need them. I will gladly help my parents at home and do my duties with a smile.

Most importantly, I will save part of my pocket money for the MCA mission box, knowing that even my little contribution can bring food, clothes, and hope to other children around the world. Finally, I will live out evangelisation, which means spreading the Good News of Jesus. He commanded us, “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation” (Mark 16:15). I will do this by inviting my friends to pray with me, join MCA activities, and come for Holy Mass. I will share Bible stories and tell them why Jesus is my best friend. By speaking kindly and showing love, I can bring others closer to God. This holiday, my mission is clear: To live every day as a little missionary through Prayer, Sacrifice, and Evangelisation.
