Seven Novices of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Michael the Archangel made their First Profession of Vows recently on the feast of the Transfiguration of Our Lord Jesus Christ at the SSMA Novitiate Chapel in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State. The Superior General, Rev. Sr. Regina Adenike Oke, SSMA received their vows in the name of the Church for the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Michael the Archangel and commended them into God’s hands. The families of the newly Professed Sisters expressed their thanks to God for this special privilege by which their daughters are dedicated and consecrated to God for the special mission to evangelise. Most Rev. Michael Olatunji Fagun, Father Founder and Bishop Emeritus of the Catholic Diocese of Ekiti, was grateful to God for such a beautiful day and encouraged everyone to be prayerful always and seek after heavenly things which surpasses all earthly riches. The newly professed sisters are Sr. Ajayi Oluwagbotemi from Ekiti State, Sr. Ariyori Justina from Ogun State, Sr. Epoyesi Eucharistia-Claris from Republic of Benin and Sr. Ibrahim Joy from Kaduna State. Others include Sr. Ogunmakinwa Mary-Jane from Ondo State, Sr. Otubo Stella from Eboyin State and Sr. Sylvester Roseline from Kogi state. Most Rev. Felix Ajakaye, Catholic Bishop of Ekiti Diocese, was represented by Rev. Fr. Joseph Benedict Ojo, the Cathedral Administrator. The newly professed sisters were later assigned to various parts of the country for the work of evangelisation.
